Illustrator - Animator - Comic Artist
Hello there, traveller!
My name is Peter/ Pete, otherwise known online as Dapperfruit. This is a hub for finding all my work as well as a showcase for my portfolio. I have recently graduated from studying 2D animation at University but I enjoy writing and illustrating a webcomic based in a fantasy world of my own creation and do some more detailed illustrations when I have the time.
Where would you like to visit first?
My webcomic, called MOLLIE, follows the story of an anthropomorphic mouse by the same name. She's grown up on Earth with a human family, the sheltered life inside her house being the only world she's ever known. But one day a chance encounter with an object called a Runestone transports her to a fantasy world filled with danger, magic and talking mice just like her. Only there's one problem- nothing about this world where her own species lives is familiar. And so with the help of three others; Tenrenn, Myrrlym and Tsig, her quest to find her way home begins.
On my Instagram page you can find a less curated collection of my work including sketchbook pages and older artwork. You'll find some familiar illustrations from this page on there too.
My student film "HANGEHERAN" for my final year at the University of South Wales.
It tells the story of Harbinger, the last surviving divine soldier of the late forge god Hethnis. He was created to fight a world shattering war that has lasted over 6000 years. Now he is old and his body starts to fail him, and he is finally offered the chance to rest and recover by the goddess of dragons, Queen Huyonivahr. He wakes up many millennia later to find the world has healed and life has returned.
Animation Showreel
Music: Adventures in Adventureland by Kevin McLeod
Shown here is a showreel of a number of animated works, as well as character sheets/turnarounds made for both University and for personal projects. I show a variety of work from my first, second and third year to give an idea on the progression of my work throughout my studies.
